@dave using NixOS isn't *high* on my "huh, maybe my gender's more complicated than that" list, but it's definitely on there...
@mindpersephone @HerGayRoommate I've had that experience. Which is why I've spent so long customising how I *manage* my environment. And if I'm writing environment management software, that's clearly productive coding rather than environment twiddling per se, right?

@pandorablake fits the brief, looks great, and I suddenly have a hankering to have someone throughly overpowering me for some reason.
@pandorablake it varies depending on the TLD, but either you can transfer whenever or you'll need to renew at the time you transfer (with the extra year added on). I recently made the switch to @beasts and have been incredibly impressed with them. I also know @aaisp do domain registration, are super good on privacy, and I've been very happy with them as an ISP.

As a man who enjoys presenting femme, "forced" femme was important to me for a long time: between societal and internalised transphobia, it was the only way I could imagine a partner being enthusiastic about me presenting as anything other than masc.
With hindsight what I wanted was encouragement and support. But as a young queer in a cishet society, it's often hard to believe those are possible, let alone things you deserve and can access.
I'm very glad the narrative on this stuff is shifting. @pandorablake and @[email protected] jump to mind as folk I trust on this topic and who I know have been helping move the window. I really hope the kids working out their genders and sexualities today and tomorrow have an easier time of it than me.
