Twitter? Nobody ever goes there anymore — it’s too crowded.

Few possess the ability to articulate the contemporary condition of our world with the same level of insight and eloquence as Adam Curtis.
Funny how everyone and every media outlet is talking about Oppenheimer but no one is talking about the Heinar Kipphardt theatre play. Has no-one seen/read it? Wasn’t it until now the definitive piece on the Oppenheimer story? Is it a characteristic of being old when everybody talks about a subject you thought had been already by and large addressed by arts?
I miss old Twitter like I miss smoking. It was bad for me, sure, but it was fun to do with friends and made me feel invincible for a while.
So hear me out: what if 50 Twitter clones is a good thing? Nerds on Mastodon can fight over stupid things. Influencers on Threads can race to the lowest common denominator. Incels have Twitter. BlueSky is for chaos. Pick a platform for the audience and stop caring that a number goes up.
And just like that, done with Threads. No further research needed. This post Twitter thing just seems to get easier not harder.
Meta says that Threads is going to support the fediverse ActivityPub protocol "soon." So there's no need to go to Threads and give more data to Meta. Make Threads come to you! https://www.wired.com/story/meta-threads-privacy-decentralization/

The return to the office could be the real reason for the slump in productivity. Here’s the data to prove it

Productivity jumped as offices closed, and stayed high through 2021. When companies started mandating a return to the office, productivity dropped sharply.

The Wallace-Bolyai-Gerwein theorem says that for any 2-dimensional polygon, you can make a finite number of cuts to turn it into any other polygon that you like (of the same area). Here's a visual demonstration:
@dimillian these LG screens seem to have a lot of backlight bleeding and the Logitech C920 (‘the best webcam’ according to the internet since about 2012) is not a very good webcam. I know I made the mistake of buying both…
