A lot has been written about how psychological safety leads to high performing teams.

A related characteristic I haven’t seen as much written about is trust. In fact, faith may be a better word than trust.

This is when you have absolute faith that a team member will handle a problem or problem area such that you don’t have to worry about it.

A key characteristic of high performing teams I’ve seen is when everyone has faith in the competence and ability of their peers.

It’s a great feeling.

I have been genuinely baffled by the cries to put self-promotion behind a CW since I started using Mastodon in earnest this fall.

I know that everyone uses social media differently, but I want to know what people are working on. I want to know about new books or albums or apps or podcasts or whatever. I want to know who is looking for help via crowdfunding.

I care about the whole person, not a persona they're forced into by arbitrary rules.

Transfers are open to tech.lgbt as well as new registrations. If you know people who need a new space free of bigotry or who are looking to flee other instances, feel free to point them here.

It’s not too late to take advantage of the Effin’ Birds pin deal: every third pin you put in your cart is free.

That’s right, if you buy 57 pins you’ll only have to pay for 38 of them!

Don't get caught up on the "What I should've accomplished this year/setting goals for next year" trap around this time of year.

January 1 is arbitrary. It's not a deadline. You live your life, show up, and set goals in a way that's realistic to you. You can reflect and set intentions on your own timeline.

Found this in my saved videos. Worth a repost.

First up, and probably the best: the eMachines 'Never Obsolete'. The circa 2001 computer (with anachronistic Y2K sticker) sold in Circut City and Best Buy.

Inside is a Raspberry Pi 4. The outside is loaded up with stickers. Zoom in!
