@Natasha_Jay @ThatFrisianGirlish @Ten This is pretty inspiring to me, cause I'm currently 33 (almost 34) and I'm looking at probably not being able to transition for another 4-5 years. I want to be in a more comfortable place financially and also move to someplace safer culturally.

Just to put my two cents in the jar, I don't think QTs are good or bad, the people who use them are. If there's a tool that can be used maliciously, someone will do so, but that doesn't make the tool evil. If someone's using them to harass people, they probably would have harassed them anyways, just using a different tool. Turns out there's no easy solution to hate.

@seedsinputinspocket @TheGuardian_us If that system cost them even a penny, Musk saw it as an unnecessary expense. Heck, he probably didn't even bother to ask anyone how much it was costing them, just nah, unnecessary service. The man has no empathy for fellow human beings.

@thelastanarchist You have to basically be willing to sell your soul to be the richest person in the world. The sorts of things you have to do to attain that position precludes people from empathy, it seems.

@thelastanarchist I remember when I used to believe in reform. I was like... 18. Probably around the same time that I respected politics as a career path, and thought that wealthy people earned their place in society. I used to believe a lot of stupid things.

@mekkaokereke Let's be fair, it's not just the bail system, the entire criminal "justice" system is designed to punish poor people, not rich people. You have to do something *really* bad as a rich person to get convicted, and most rich person crimes are punished by fines, not jail time. Innocent poor people get convicted all the time, rich guilty people get off scot-free all the time.

I get depressed when I watch what I know is at least a left-leaning channel promote a scam, or something approaching a scam. Because I know they need income, and a lot of the sponsors for small channels are really shady. So they go with the least-scammy sponsor they can find, but... yeah. Still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

It's kinda painful watching Josh Strife Hayes ponder for 30 minutes over what went wrong with gaming, and not come to the realization that it's maybe the fault of our economic system. It's amazing how close he comes to an anti-capitalist critique and then just goes... "Well this is just the way it is, it's the fault of bad individuals, not the system itself."
