@shriekingmarxist Someone made a post on the bird site about how one malicious user could access an instance and although they never interact with you, they can see all of your posts and history. It's worse if the moderator is the malicious actor.
Their concern also was someone creating your handle but on another instance and posing as you for defamation, which, imo, is less of an issue because that risk is everywhere (gmail, yahoo, even facebook has the problem with people duping accounts)
