Hello all! Returning ham here. Mainly interested in HF #CW #MorseCode. Currently working on my copy speed and head copy. Any tips appreciated.
Got #Doom #Emacs #org-roam setup on the #hamradio dedicated laptop. #cwops
@N8IF Manfred Mann’s “Chance” album has a little morse on it as well
I was listening to #thealanparsonsproject and its the first time I heard #morsecode in a song. I will try to see if I can catch a callsign. #CWForever #lucifer

I just set up a Google Calendar for #hamradio events that would be interesting to people learning #MorseCode . These are slow-speed nets and operating events.

This is a new link that should not require any logins.

Just realized yesterday that W1AW #MorseCode practice is sent using Farnsworth spacing, but maybe only for 10 wpm or less. Thank goodness they aren't sending 5 wpm with 5 wpm character speed!

This isn't on their official page at http://www3.arrl.org/w1aw-operating-schedule, but found a few old references:

I copied today's Morsle at 35 WPM! https://morsle.fun

Type-2 Fun is how we recollect outdoor experiences that were utterly miserable when they were taking place, but in retrospect are fondly remembered as a great time.

I think it's the same cognitive process that allows people to have more than one child.

This is sometimes referred to as "PARIS " speed. At 12 wpm = 60 cpm, you can send that word (including the space following it!) exactly 12 times in one minute, which means you will have sent 60 characters.

If you figure it out, that word is exactly 50 dot-lengths long (again, including the trailing space). At 12 wpm = 60 cpm, those 50 dot-lengths get 5 s of time. This way, one dot-length is 0,1 s long.

So "PARIS" is used as a "norm word" for measuring #MorseCode speed.
