The crows recognise me now. They know I have dog treats and they like my dog treats. If I'm at the park there'll be dozens of the sweeties stopping by for a snack. I think the other park goers think I'm Odin collecting reports.
@bomkatt You are one of my favorite people on here, due to being smart, funny, capable of a number of things that I am not (such as knitting and enthusiastic exercise), and generally agreeing either me on a wide variety of sensible viewpoints — which is a reliable sign of the very best sort of person. 😁👍
I logged onto a teacher's Zoom meeting and briefly laughed as I saw someone's name was 'Magic Bellend' until I realised that the last time I'd used Zoom was in lockdown with some drunken mates and that 'Magic Bellend' was in fact me.

Happy Pride Month. If you know a young person (age 13-26) in the US who is getting their access to queer library books restricted because of local small-minded policies or laws, please refer them to the Books Unbanned program where they can get digital access to banned or restricted books thanks to the cooperation of larger libraries in more open-minded locations.

It's a great program that more people should know about.

Help!
It looks like I need to replace my phone.
Constraints
-works on Aotearoa phone networks
- need to be able to use some apps that are only available on play store/apple
-I'm quite not tech savvy and have a hard time getting round to things
-budget, lol

Desires:
-doesn't spy on me
-Works without me needing skills I will struggle to learn

From bits I've been hearing here and there I need a "sandbox" to keep that play store away from anything else I do
Graphene OS is the only option for going that
I'm going to need to buy a pixel phone to run it

Questions:
Is that my choice? A (second hand) pixel
Or something Android and try to get better at knocking the AI and spying tendencies on the head

How hard is it for a technophobe to run Graphene OS?

I have a very close friend in the U.S that is currently working a job where they are asked to do AI slop all day, every day, and they want out because it is depressing the hell out of them.

Super talented engineer, the kind of person that loves Clojure, 10/10 would recommend. If anyone knows of any open roles or would like to get in touch to commiserate, please shoot me a DM!

I am on vacation. For the trip, I got us a variety 12-pack of Jarritos soda. It is FUTBOL themed, because FUTBOL IS LIFE.

I just opened it.

Literally every bottle is a different flavor. It's the most variety a variety pack could be. There are flavors of Jarritos I didn't know existed in there. I had no idea that they even had 12 flavors. I'm excited but also worried about this being some kind of demonic trap and I'm gonna end up like Sam Neill at the end of Event Horizon
