In the last few years, we’ve seen so many more Asian and Asian American faces and names on screen and in books, and my heart is full knowing that some kids today can grow up with role models and characters who look like them and celebrate the same traditions and have similar family dynamics. There’s more work to be done, of course, but all these successes have paved the way for so many others.
Last night’s incredible wins for EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE had me thinking about this silly little Facebook post* I made just a few short years ago. Representation matters, in numerous ways, and I’m filled with so much pride witnessing these well-deserved creators get recognized for their hard work.

Went to a performance of "The Nutcracker" yesterday, and I'd forgotten what a wild ride that is. 😆 But it's definitely magical for kids (though about half an hour too long for mine). 🎄
I bought three of these bird ornaments on clearance from W*lmart last year, and they truly embody my design aesthetic, which is sparkly feathers. 💖😅
