@drewphish @chopaganda it works really well with the pinned hashtag thing, you can essentially have extra columns as saved hashtag searches for specific interests
@drewphish @DrLeonJ they were just trying to keep up with ARU 😅
@chip what I really need is something focused on moderation as opposed to admin though
@chip thanks for these, I've seen the DMCA one
@Ludicculus absolutely - in theory the decentralization should be much more upside than down, but in practice? We'll see. I'm interested and optimistic at the moment but there are many ways it could go wrong

Who's got a guide to being an admin/moderator on a masto server? Besides the little bit at fedi.tips and the official docs. Thanks

#admins #adminsofmastodon #Moderation

@chopaganda great tips. In the web version I recommend turning on the "advanced interface" which is a tweetdeck-like multi column view, that's another nice one.

Want to make more sense of this platform?

Download Ice Cubes for iOS or Tusky for Android. Scrap the Mastodon app.

Why?

1–They look/feel more like Twitter

2–Follow people, post, and have fun.

Hope that’s helps. Please boost if useful.

Heya friends, my instance is completely blocking yours in a week. I'm sure we are not the only ones, many already had "soft blocks", so once again I'll recommend finding a better instance and migrate there. Weirder.earth is accepting new users (we can invite y'all), and there are many other cool instances.

The .social and .online "flagship" instances are full of problem users (no surprise, considering how ginormous they are), it is just unsustainable. And again due to the size, we can't block just the problematic parts - it's all or nothing. On a smaller instance you wouldn't have to bear the burden of all those other people, and could benefit more from the federated nature of the fediverse.
