This account is dedicated to our food forest Harmony Woods
This Chinese chestnut is almost as tall as the 5 foot wire cage we wrap around all our seedlings. White tailed deer are always hungry for yummy new trees!
Hazel seedlings and a couple of bush cherries. I can’t remember which kind they are
This pawpaw is the same one as in my avi. It’s doing well! It’s one of the grafted babies

Twisted Tree.Net is limited open for seed sales fyi

This is a #permaculture nursery in NY USA. I took their propagation course a few years back. About half of my project was grown from seeds through them. Akiva offers seeds as they are ready so you need to check in on the regular. He provides the seeds with his courses, so if you’ve always wanted to learn but were intimidated, I can’t recommend his program enough!

We camped at our project Harmony Woods last night. The peach saplings that I grew from pits seem very healthy. The pears, apricots, and pawpaws made it through the summer without irrigation. The wildflower seeds from our home garden are blooming. Next trip I will visit the nut trees. They’re harder to access with the wheelchair.
We saw swifts, a cooper hawk, and sparrows! Making some edges has already increased the bird population. Very happy!

#introduction post, while also trying to figure out the iPad!

A few years ago, husband & I bought an abandoned woodland lot a mile from our home. We cleared some paths and made enough of a driveway to park our tiny camper on it. Since then we planted some trees and bushes. Our goal was to add fruit and nut trees into a mature landscape for human & wildlife to enjoy.

We named our project Harmony Woods. I started documenting it on twitter but you know how that went! Glad to start over here!
