Fleeting Light in Melbury Woods

Now that the tourist season is in full flow, my local beach is often too busy for my style of photography so I determined to travel to the woods. I've been experimenting recently with macro photography but I only have a manual focus 7Artisans 60mm macro lens which is a bit challenging to use. I'm very tempted to but I new auto-focus Fuji macro lens but thought that I should try some more macro photography to see if I enjoy it before…

Northam Burrows

The rain finally sort of stopped for a bit so I went for a walk around Northam Burrows. The dunes lost a fair bit in yesterday's storm but it's still a lovely place to walk even when the weather is set for grey.

The William Stevenson

PZ 195, The William Stevenson is a houseboat moored on the River Torridge near Bideford in North Devon, UK. This image was made on a misty morning in April. I was drawn to the jaunty angle of the access ladder hanging from the mooring rope.

Longest day of the year and I was awake ridiculously early for the sunrise that didn't quite happen but the light on the clouds was nice. Came across some sheep playing 'follow my leader' and a nice sign to frame the sky. Went for a cinematic edit just for a change.
My latest blog covers a week of very early morning sunrise photography on Westward Ho! beach. https://moore2c.com/2023/06/09/on-the-beach-westward-ho/
On The Beach – Westward Ho!

This week the weather has been lovely and the sunrises super early so I’ve been out on the beach trying out some different techniques. Standing in the sea using a medium telephoto lens to cap…

Rain, rain, go away, come back another day! - Just kidding, it would be nice to be out of drought status - what we need is some real rain.
A little forest bathing away from the grockles that are all over the beach this weekend. There's even a selfie in there somewhere...

Up early to catch the golden hour at Westward Ho! The actual sunrise wasn't much but the colours looking away from the sun were fabulous.

Dark and moody image from this morning's walk in Appledore. Taking on board the lessons from Sean Tucker - Embrace your shadows and protect your highlights. #edpscameraclub #bnwphotography #boats
The rain crashing down over Hartland Point shortly before it arrived at my location. I tried to keep the natural colours by using the Fuji ProNeg film simulation instead of pushing loads of vibrancy like most sunset photography. I think it gives the image a really good moody look #sunset #photography #fujixseries #filmsimulation #edpscameraclub #sunsetphotography #moodygrams #ukcoast
