37 y/o coyote/husky hybrid. I spend most of my time making music. latro ergo sum.
I'll make a new #introduction post since it's been months and everyone seems to be posting #introductions. I'm primarily a musician these days who has been particularly active making video game music. I'm a singer, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, and composer. Hope to get more connected with the #furrymusic scene here, so if you're ever interesting in collaborating on music, please let me know! #furrymusician #furrymusicians
Sorry, I didn't want this to just be a vent account about this service, and I apologize for making this account just be about that. I do other things than just complain, haha.
@halfashark You have nothing to apologize for! I'm just honestly perplexed by the general sentiment here that the third-party apps are better than the official app. I'm not an expert, but that seems to me to be a red flag that might indicate issues in the service itself, and that honestly worries me a bit. It's by no means your fault, and you shouldn't feel obligated to apologize on behalf of this service for my subpar experience so far. Thank you for the help you've given so far.
@halfashark Sorry, I didn't mean to make it sound like I was expecting Twitter levels of quality here, but if I take the time to download, install, and set up a third-party app, I would hope that it's able to function on even a basic level. The official Mastodon app at least works even if some of the features are missing.
@Claire I also just got on here on my computer in a browser, and it seems to be working as advertised.

@KaffeineKaiju Sadly, automatically dismissing CW posts on the iOS app seems to not be a thing right now, but tapping on all of the CW posts is still easier for me than opening this in a web browser on my phone.

And yeah, I'm not a moogle, but I'm a big fan.

I'm trying to make this account not just be about complaining about the service, but unfortunately that's all I seem to be doing here. Trying to be more positive, haha, so avoiding asking too much unless necessary.

@Claire Honestly, I'm not really interested in using a web client to access this service on my phone. I know it's purely out of laziness on my end, but using a web client on my phone is actually more effort for me than clicking on every protected post to see the content inside.
@halfashark Honestly, I've tried a few other third-party apps, and they've all been worse for me than the official one, so I'm reluctant to go through the process of installing and setting up yet another one. Isn't Tapbots also the company than randomly hides features of their third-party Twitter client behind a monthly paywall?
@pawggers Honestly, I've tried maybe 3 or so different third-party apps, and they're all notably worse than the official one in several ways, at least from my perspective. Also, there seems to be no consensus on which third-party app is best which leads me to believe that people are just picking favorites.
Felt my phone heating up, so I went to check. 43%!? What’s going on here?
