Frame rate is the frame rate of the container, not necessarily of the content, the content may be (if we assume the 29.970fps you see is correct) 29.970 progressive (perfect), 24.976->29.970 pulledup (easily solvable), 29.970 interlaced (enhanced motion, wow), 29.970 fieldblended (practically a broken dvd, it's impossible to fix it properly without tedious manual work), being a collection it is possible that different clip may have different encoding depending on how they were filmed, they may also change the resolution, from 4:3 to 16:9 so that will be fun :) .
