There’s a dirty Trump trick you need to look out for. He used it in 2020 to try to overturn the election, and he’s going to do it again. But it doesn’t work if you know it’s coming.

Watch out for Trump to exploit something elections experts call the “red mirage” to prematurely declare victory before all the votes are counted.

You see, in almost every election, Republicans appear to take an early lead. That’s the red mirage.

Then that lead gets smaller throughout… https://www.instagram.com/p/DB9oGT9py7R/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=mastodon

Robert Reich on Instagram: "There’s a dirty Trump trick you need to look out for. Then that lead gets smaller throughout the night, which is called the “blue shift.” This happens because Republican votes tend to be counted before Democratic votes. It’s not magic. Votes are counted by precinct, and Democrats tend to live in more densely populated, urban precincts, while Republicans tend to live in more sparsely populated, rural ones. It just takes longer to count the votes in a precinct with a lot of people than in a precinct with fewer people. Also, Democrats are more likely to vote by mail, and mail-in votes take longer to count. Some can't even be counted until Election Day. The 2024 election will be close, and early in the night, Trump is likely to appear to be ahead and again use that early lead to falsely claim victory. Mirages can be confusing, but if you know what they are, you won’t be fooled by them. Please help spread the word about the red mirage so people know what to expect on election night. Do not fall for this Trump trick."

My friends are good tests of height and width of 'base' sizes, so it's not just me centric. I got the width right easy enough, but I had to extend height for tall boy + ears.

Ok I need help. I got a job offer of my dreams to work a remote data entry position for a company called Eterostech. My fiancee thinks it might be a scam, but it's hard to pass up the $30 an hour they're offering me. I did the interview via txt over signal. I applied through indeed and the employee reviews are saying to treat the position as if it was temporary. They're offering to pay for the equipment, but the MacBook is running Mountain Lion. Am I being scammed, or should I accept the offer?
Howdy howdy y'all! New to mastodon but I figured I should make a bit more of a formal #introduction . I'm primarily a trans #artist and #streamer who made my own #vtuber model. I'll be posting stream announcements and art occasionally though I'm bad about actually finishing wips...
My son is _furious_ that the servos he’s using in his grade school robotics club project have five degrees of play in their responsiveness and none of his test runs are replicable, and he’s angry that anyone would sell random unreliable junk like this to save a few bucks. I did not expect him to become radicalized by a grade-school engineering extracurricular but I fully approve.
