What GTK app are you working on?

#gtk #libadwaita #gnome

@GTK I'm currently working on Upscaler with @gregorni, @doomsdayrs, @osezer, and Matteo (not on Mastodon) :)

@GTK I was trying to rewrite https://github.com/jeena/feedthemonkey in Rust + GTK4 + libadwaita but I can't get any webview to work in any way so I kind of stopped trying. Perhaps it'll be easier in a couple of years :D

@jeena @GTK you should check out the other rss feeds and see how they implement webview.
@jeena @GTK You can try to look at other Rust/GTK apps to see how they implement it.
Or ask the wizards the in the #rust:gnome.org room.
228268 – [GTK4] [REGRESSION] Rendering on Nvidia is terribly broken, almost a blank screen

@GTK I’m making a browser (Limited in functionality) that reassembles ArcBrowser to study GTK and ADW *edit and #vala :)
@GTK None right now, I'm on a side quest to port library to Rust first, because I need to use it in an app. But for that, I first need to add some features to another library, so it's a side-quest within a side-quest :)
@GTK LBRY-GTK! Just getting started but hoping to be a good contributor!
@GTK I'm not telling you just yet :D

@GTK
Soon i will start a bitwarden client for linux mobile with relm4 so it's gtk right?

#gtk #libadwaita #gnome

@chfkch It's still GTK, even when using languages other than C, as well as libraries that augment the API or UI elements 😎
@GTK A fun small #GTK #Libadwaita app with a button just to produce fake #Grindr notification sound! Would be fun for #gay #LinuxMobile users our there. + there would be options for sounds of other apps. Have decided to name it "Crusher"

Attached: 2 images Announcing Crusher: A fun app to generate notification sounds of some queer dating apps (for example, Grindr or Blued) on press of a button. Made with #GTK4 (@[email protected]), #Libadwaita and #blueprint (blueprint-compiler) Would be fun for #gay #LinuxMobile users our there, maybe? Not putting it on Flathub for using audios and icons of proprietary apps. Repository: https://git.disroot.org/hemish/crusher (You can install it by getting latest .flatpak from releases section) #gtk #gnome

@qwertzuiopy @GTK heyyy that's awesome! are you doing it at some public repo so we can follow the development?
@laaledesiempre @GTK

@GTK It’s an app that lets you build input forms from a YAML file. You then fill it out and it creates a document (PDF, email, whatever) based on a template.

It is written in #Haskell and I will set up an gitlab for it soon.

@user8e8f87c oh! Just the regular GTK bindings or are there any nice FRP libraries based on GTK these days? :)

@nokyan I didn't know it, it looks quite complete, great job 👍.
@nokyan @GTK I really really like Resources. It’s beautiful and works great. I prefer Resources than the default Gnome System Monitor.
@GTK I'm not working on an app, but I did just port #monophony (a YouTube music gtk4 client) to #nix / #nixos!
@GTK I'm working on the desktop client of @tryton
@GTK I'm working on Fretboard, an app for looking up, identifying, and remembering guitar chords!
@bragefuglseth @GTK nice, didn't this app get featured somewhere last week? I tried it and it worked great! ^^
@bragefuglseth @GTK please also take a look at https://fretastic.com/guitar (if unknown to you) and take inspiration from it, if it makes sense for you plans for Fretboard :)

@GTK inkscape

Still inkscape.

@GTK

Unfortunately none at the moment but would like to change that, haven't found a language that I enjoy using with gtk yet :(

@GTK Two of them!

Horizon EDA, a PCB layout tool: https://horizon-eda.org/

Dune 3D, a parametric 3D CAD: https://dune3d.org/

Though neither of them use libadwaita or are specific to GNOME, their UI is inspired by GNOME applications.

Horizon EDA

Horizon is a free EDA package enabling users to maintain a pool of electronic parts, draw schematics and design PCB-layouts

@GTK I would like to start working on a PDF redaction tool. This is really missing on Linux
@pi_crew @GTK Why not add PDF support to https://apps.gnome.org/Obfuscate/? There is an open issue about it.
Obfuscate – Apps for GNOME

Censor private information – Obfuscate lets you redact your private information from any image.

@GTK I guess SheMuVi -- a sheetmusic viewer for #MusicXML files https://git.sr.ht/~earboxer/shemuvi (powered by by #verovio) (basically a MVP right now)
@GTK But I can't figure out a layout issue where I want an image with an arbitrary height to fill the window's width but have a vertical scrollbar, so it does not bring much joy.
@zachdecook @GTK Very cool. Do you want to integrate it into DiNoScore? https://flausch.social/@piegames/111300004509875763

Flausch.social
@piegames Hmm... well I'm not a rust person, and verovio (C++) uses SWIG to generate its interfaces (and swig doesn't support rust, from what I've seen), so I feel like the three (me, verovio, and dinoscore) wouldn't be the best match. Maybe someone else would be better to make it happen.

Recently ported it from GTK 3 to GTK 4. Might continue on fixing some bugs and maybe updating the design.
