#OTD in 1966, I watched the first episode. It showed a universe where science and knowledge mattered, where characters were from different planets, species, and cultures and worked together for the greater good. Might, when used, was for defense and the protection of others. It was an optimistic future which gave hope and purpose. Sadly it was all fantasy.
