#RMT have anounced more #RailStrikes in the run up to Christmas. Massively inconvenient for me: I'm going to miss a football match, have fewer days with my family. Am I angry with the #union? Not at all! I'm angry with this bloody government, with the indignity of their silence. #Solidarity with all striking workers! Victory to the RMT!

Catching up with the House of Commons Home Affairs Committee session with Suella Braverman on Wednesday.

Car crash doesn’t come close.

Dame Diana Johnson (chair) asks when the Home Sec became aware she was breaking the law at the Manston detention centre.

Braverman refuses to answer, saying she can’t “breach convention” and disclose the fact or content of legal advice. /1.

Judging Mastodon in general, and Mastodon.social in particular, right now is like complaining that the service at the new restaurant in town is too slow the day after they were mentioned on Oprah.
Give it some time, give the admins a break, and understand that you ARE the burden on the server that is the cause of the issues.
No one is getting rich, lots of people are dedicating a lot of their time for free, and it’s in all our best interests to be patient and allow this to succeed.

To see Labour bemoan "immigration dependency" is dismal.

For generations, many young people's best chance of seeing other countries was when they were rounded up, marched across the fields of Europe and made to slaughter one another.

Freedom of movement gave people the chance to decide for themselves where to live, work, learn, make a life.

It's one of the most astonishing & liberating political achievements of the last hundred years.

To tear up this legacy is shameful.
