half-in, half-out. Joining another social network seems like a poor idea
@atpfm *has John seen this …
@atpfm sort-of related, the price you can get a 2019 Mac Pro for (1-2k for…a lot of computer) is offensive. (I’ve been sitting on eBay listings for various high-ram Mac Studios for a couple of weeks, the searches eventually cross over)
@atpfm has John this bridging product since he won’t be able (want) to purchase a new Mac Pro this year? https://zeerawireless.com/products/zeera-macforge-studio-cnc-aluminum-cooling-case-for-mac-studio Could take the sting out of the change in form factor down to the Mac Studio
ZEERA MacForge Studio: CNC Aluminum Stand Mac Pro Case for Mac Studio M1/M2/M3 Ultra/M4 Max

Having to force people to use the product they don’t want is surely the litmus test for knowing you’ve created something of value
@atpfm This is directly after the big splash Apple throws up when you upgrade to 10.3, and of course when I removed the search term, they at least have a clear tab for it, but I don't think they're beating the rumors
@atpfm I basically agree that the system settings are so poorly designed that you really have to use search. Unfortunately...
@atpfm lucky Casey! My AirPods Pro 2 just randomly stop charging one side for a couple days every couple of months, but I only get (or notice) indicia of that a few hours later when the new state is (100%|1%).
@atpfm Casey needn’t be ashamed, it’s not an anniversary, it’s a centenary! Well, a secentenary

@atpfm as #askatp, given Siracusa’s nth (n>>1) mention of perl…

Is there a reason to learn perl today?

Obviously there’s always the chance of becoming the “1 guy who can maintain this critical COBAL pipeline” at a place that has such a case with perl, but I mean worthwhile more in the sense of “this will teach you something useful about programming that will benefit your non-perl work,” or pure “this is a good intellectual pursuit.”

[don’t care either way about name being read on the show]

@siracusa @karimardalan actually, skip the word “Palestinian,” that will set people off. “Civilians living in Gaza”
