@chawopro It also has a pretty realistic (as in: badly treated, forced sterilizations, police violence, general poverty), but ultimately neutral-to-positive swing on Native Americans (to the point where they are given back the land at the end of the series by the last of the White Settlers, who arguably is married to a Pocahontas-style character).

Don’t judge a show by three episodes. It’s not as bad as Sons of Anarchy.

@mcc There's a particular developer brain cancer that I have been screaming about since like 1995 which goes something like: "I understand that message replies are arranged in a tree, but I absolutely insist on presenting them as a flat list". From this original sin, all others follow.

@dmoser not shown: generated tax income per citizen suburban vs urban, and quality of life.

Cramming everyone into the same cyberpunkesque urban hellscape is not a way of running a society.

@mcfly gotta catch ‘em all.
@collin working as an it consultant, I use virtually all videoconferencing solutions with one client or another. Teams by far is not the worst solution (that award goes to Cisco webex). But while there are a lot of mediocre systems, we lack a reliable, good one.

@mkarliner @oligneisti @f4grx more to the point: the kind of people who left Twitter were not exactly the most or even averagely-civil folks. They left in protest, and brought protest with them.

All we can do is constant positive reminders, lest we risk another “September that never ended”

Has anyone stopped to look at the some of the #mastodon 's community's response to #raspberrypi ' s hire?

It seems to me a worrying trend towards #twitter behaviour. As far as I can tell, despite a majority of civilised behaviour, there were a lot of knee-jerk attacks. I

If this is the best that the #Fediverse can do, I'll close this instance and find somewhere civilised.

Oh, and before you pile in on me, I'm not supporting RPi's tone deaf actions.

@brandtlhuber es soll ja immer noch Leute geben, die einen Atomkrieg für gewinnbar halten.
