Wonderful concert this afternoon by the Sydney Cantata Project. #notbach #Buxtehude Great, youthful enthusiasm for old music.
Even after 59 years, some Dutch customs are hard to eradicate.... In the weeks before Easter, you need to listen to the St Matthew Passion by #bach #jsbach
The following performance is special, the last one by conductor Jos van Velthoven (includes inteviews and prelude) and the Nederlandse Bachvereniging

Matthäus-Passion | NPO Start

When the world seems to be at an end, there are always Bach's Goldberg variations...
And then, they play it on a couple of guitars! Wow! #bach #GoldbergVariations

For years I thought Cory Doctarow was a bit extreme. But looking at the junkheap pretending to be useful social media:

"The promise of locked-down mobile platforms was that they were going to "just work," without any of the confusing customization options of desktop OSes. It turns out that taking away those confusing customization options was an invitation to every enshittifier to turn the web into an unreadable, extractive, nagging mess"

I agree and going back to using RSS where at all practical.

Sam Roggeveen in this morning's Saturday Paper... "Australia is effectively already alone. Now we need to start acting like it."
I wanted to make the world's fastest yawl, so I made the aft sail bigger, but apparently that means it's not a yawl anymore! It's a real ketch-22.

We learnt a wonderful custom when visiting Japan some years back: Get up early on New Years Day to watch the sun rise on the new year... Sunrise wasn't spectacular this year, but then...
