Spring arrived today, so my mind turns to #gardening. I have been collecting #Iris germanica, now I have 4 colours including variety Fabian, which was popular in the early 20th century and still persists here and there. In #zone5 these beauties bloom in June.
#Amaryllis are brightening our home lately.
I put them outside in the summer, give them cool rest in the autumn, and start growing them again in December.
Each bulb has given us 3 or more blossoms, which is very comforting in the cold weather. "Amaryllis flowers are generally hybrids from various species in the Hippeastrum genus, a group of tropical plants from Central and South America." https://www.thespruce.com/growing-amaryllis-1402227

Happy holidays!

Pink Echinacea with honey bee.
These are just started in my garden, and will continue blooming well into September. The bees love them for nectar, and songbirds come for the seeds.
Lavender for bees
I'm having fun with my garden. No big changes, just appreciating the flowers.
