I don't understand why Top Gun is nominated for best picture.
Found out a old high school friend, good friend, brother, has stage 4 liver cancer and only has a few months to live. Never had this situation before. Everyone I know died suddenly... by their own hand or other... I get to say goodbye to this friend and it feels really weird. Not to mention he is one of those people who drinks gas and pisses napalm. He is to damn tough, a warrior, a freak of nature... to be taken out by cancer... I just can't wrap my head around it.

Yes thatās the first step but itās also where we lose people. Just put that aside. Start by talking about how you use Mastodon, all the great apps, the culture, etc. Then end with the first step, that āall you have to do is pick a server to get startedā and explain how. You have to hook a fish before you can reel it in.
Ryan Schultz#JohnMastodon is proof that things *CAN* go viral here on Mastodon, but the key is that *YOU* are the algorithm. The reason that the John Mastodon meme showed up on other people's timelines is because so many users boosted the posts.
The lesson here is: please don't just favourite something if you really enjoyed it; BOOST it so that other people can enjoy it, too! This is the only reason why I bother to create as large a social graph as I can on Mastodonāto act as an amplifier. You can, too!ā¤ļøš
I have to give it to trump tho. His only income is basically licensing his name to someone else's work. He has never accomplished anything substantial except running a successful grift, in one way or another, for most of his life. Everything about him is fake, blown up or half rate. And yet he makes billions of dollars (allegedly) for a load of BS. Despite a majority of the world hating him, he is probably making more money now than ever.
