Attlee generation boomer. Moving ever leftwards with age.

Sea level rise will become unmanageable at just 1.5C of global heating and lead to “catastrophic inland migration”, the scientists behind a new study have warned. This scenario may unfold even if the average level of heating over the last decade of 1.2C continues into the future.

The loss of ice from the giant Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets has quadrupled since the 1990s due to the climate crisis and is now the principal driver of sea level rise.

Sea level rise will cause ‘catastrophic inland migration’, scientists warn

Rising oceans will force millions away from coasts even if global temperature rise remains below 1.5C, analysis finds

The Guardian

The continued use of fossil fuels and other environmentally destructive practices have set the world on a course towards at least 2.5C of heating. This is almost certainly beyond the tipping points for the Greenland and west Antarctic ice sheets, and is expected to trigger what the researchers call a “really dire” sea level rise of around 12 metres.

Editorial: Stark warnings about threatened coastal areas should prompt fresh efforts to protect those most at risk

For the first time, the data indicated a small likelihood that before 2030, the world could experience a year that is 2C hotter than the preindustrial era, a possibility scientists described as “shocking”.

Data also shows small but ‘shocking’ likelihood of year 2C hotter than preindustrial era before 2030

Please note that since Political Nation posted this chart early on in the disaster, a number of these companies have ponied up some of the money that they should be paying in taxes to the disaster fund.
Funding for disaster recovery should be handled through government, to insure that it is done properly and fairly.
I note for example that the Red Cross have come under scrutiny recently for giving minimal aid though they had received huge sums in donations.

It's not us. It's them.

Private jet flights have soared in recent years, with the resulting climate-heating emissions rising by 50 percent, a comprehensive global analysis has revealed.

The assessment tracked more than 25,000 private jets and almost 19 million flights between 2019 and 2023. It found almost half the jets traveled less than 500 kilometers (311 miles) and 900,000 were used “like taxis” for trips of less than 50 kilometers (31 miles).

Private flights, used by just 0.003 percent of the world’s population, are the most polluting form of transport. The researchers found that passengers in larger private jets caused more CO2 emissions in an hour than the average person did in a year.
