First book I will read is related to the events before, during and after the military invasion of the United States to Puerto Rico as part of the Spanish-American war in 1898.
I’m trying to connect the stories my grandfather used to tell, inherited from his grandfather to what was happening in Puerto Rico in general.
Imani Barbarin’s video about the #COVID19 pandemic left me so angry. The response to this virus by the US government has been reducing our families, friends and coworkers who’ve lost their lives into insignificant numbers that barely register anywhere.
And those of us who got sick with long-term symptoms are being labeled as being paranoid despite the science backing our claims.
My baby girl on the right left us today. She was a cranky ass Rottweiler with the playfulness of her bulldog mom. She especially loved kids. And babies. And later in life was fascinated by horses.
One time I slipped and fell and she jumped on my chest to check up on me. She was alright. She will be missed.
Did somebody say Caturday?
This was my view in August during my last vacations. From Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
Bad Bunny on a gas station rooftop singing a song with a very strong anti gentrification message in one of Puerto Rico’s most gentrified areas is something else.
The song is called “El Apagón”
