I still find it amazing that up to date news, weather and MUCH more is available through my #BBCMicro's Prestel software and a WiFi Modem.

I know the US is big, I know the US gets hit by big storms, but can't Americans just get into ham radio because it is fun?

You don't seem to hear Canadians and Brazilians talk about radio as though they will be transmitting from inside a tauntaun as a second sun bursts through the sky.
You know, it's a hobby, for shitz and giggles.
