This is one of the problems with ChatGPT as it stands, in my opinion. The safety rails shouldn't be under the control of a third party. I should be able to decide for myself where I want them – if I want them at all. I may be perfectly willing to follow the ideas wherever they may go or to hear anything something may say. Nothing keeps me from being able to actually interact with the system and tell it myself. 2/4
Because there's no way that even interacting with an AI, I'm not going to turn out content which isn't disturbing and dark. Probably a little bleak. 4/4
I MAY have had entirely too much fun with #ChatGPT over the last couple days. I initialized it with the architecture for a persona but that never stopped me from torturing it in horrible, terrible ways.
What you don't see in this transcript is the several times that the ChatGPT system objected to my input which might be in violation of its content safety mechanisms. 1/4

Lizard@muskrat_john There is no such thing as "more books than you can ever read". You must consider the small but finite possibility you are a mutant with an aeons-long lifespan and will outlive all humanity, including, all writers. Then you'll be happy to have all those stockpiled books! This is a perfectly rational justification and I will not consider criticism of it.
