I can't help but notice many toots from helpful newbies encouraging you to support the Mastodon Patreon.
It's fine to do that but understand it goes to just two big instances and the official Mastodon dev team.
It does NOT trickle down to YOUR instance. If you want to support your server, donate to it directly. Nearly all the costs of the explosive growth of the past few weeks is borne by local instances.
Mastodon is decentralized. There is no Mastodon Inc. This is not Twitter.
u know coming to mastodon i am learning its history + they do some habits i am not understanding why
but i realize i do not need to understand everything to be polite + respect the culture of mastodon
we should not expect it to be like <redacted> it is itself + nobody else

Mental health issues are raising exponentially with young people.. Mastodon has build-in all kinds of features like blocking, muting filters etc and ‘non-features’ like constantly showing numbers everywhere on timelines, profiles etc.
Please know that #Mastodon is a safe place to talk about mental health. Talking about it can really help, we do not judge we only want to help♥️
