Recently moved from Potions Master to Defence Against The Dark Arts. No, really.
@gaghyogi49 Of course you realise that if #StarTrekLegacy goes to series, they’ll probably ask to borrow it back… 😂
In the coronation, Penny Mordaunt played the role of strange lady distributing swords
@rgegriff Back when I was a systems administrator, one day a new Google Search Appliance server was delivered. It had been ordered by the dev team without informing me, so now I had to find space for it in the office server racks. I was discussing this with their team lead, who’d just been to buy himself a packet of biscuits, which he’d put down on the box. As we concluded, I glanced down and said “Well, at least if already has cookies enabled.”
It’s International Haiku Day today, apparently, so here are a few haiku to start off the week.

Great moments in software engineering

Newfoundland, ca. 1000 CE: A bug in the Google Maps route-planning algorithm at high latitudes causes Leif Eriksson and his crew to miss Greenland entirely. They instead become the first Europeans to reach North America. They name the place "Vimland" in honor of a text editor sacred to Odin. Emacs-using natives soon attack the Vikings on several Usenet groups.

Hard to believe this poem is exactly 1.5 million years old today.
@scalzi Of course, by putting the cream on top of the jelly you have just declared war on half of Cornwall.
@gaghyogi49 I get that it’s supply & demand, and it’s great that MR took it on at all, so can hardly begrudge them looking to make some profit, but too many of the first cohort fell into the “I really want this but not at that price” or “nice to haves, and would get if they were just a bit cheaper” categories for me! Roll on Sunday, let’s see what’s up next…
