@jofagobe @bookstodon I think your wise not to jump right in to the #stormlight archive. Elantris is a perfectly fine book to start with – but the cosmere tie-ins are latent.
I’d give a very serious look at starting with #Mistborn trilogy to start with. Those books are reasonably sized, the story is a lot of fun, and the sequel trilogy #waxAndWayne is ridiculously entertaining.
On the Kindle side of things, this post on Reddit contains some details on the delivery fees that Amazon charges per megabyte of content in Kindle books. $0.15 per megabyte fee added for each book.

The article linked in the first post details the criticisms being leveled by a NY Times best selling author who is in the privileged position of being able to champion this issue. He is also a successful YouTuber, friends with many of the podcasters in the tech community, and is trying to open new paths for indie authors to find profitable success.

It is common practice for indie authors to receive as little as 25% if they don’t offer Audible exclusive rights to their audiobooks.
With all the time given to critically evaluating Apple’s profit share with developers, I’d love to see the tech community give more attention to the stranglehold that Amazon has on their creators, specifically indie authors.
(Edited) I would love to hear the thoughts of those who have navigated the Apple--Developer--Podcaster relationships and the parallels they can see for authors struggling with Amazon/Audible.
