This is a brilliant blog post.

What happens if you write to the address listed in the GPL?

https://code.mendhak.com/gpl-v2-address-letter/

I wrote to the address in the GPLv2 license notice and received the GPLv3 license

I was curious about the 51 Franklin Street address in the GPLv2 license notice so I wrote to them as they said

Your regular reminder that at his wedding to Iman, Bowie had a group photo taken with Bono, Ono and Eno.

I refuse to believe this was an accident.

The hardest working font in Manhattan

A story of a 150-year-old font you have never heard of – and one you probably saw earlier today.

This is an information war.

Here's how you win it.

- Fund left / progressive content creators until it's a full time job and they can match the output of the right
- Throw money at indie publishers to beat Fox / Rogan (you can't count on the NYT to be their balance)
- Funnel progressive dollars into mass social advertising campaigns (how much do eggs cost today?)
- Go hard-as-balls on every screw up, every single time, and don't wait for the perfect message

Someone very wise (hi @TomSullivan) said, "Make it a simple ask to start. Ladder of engagement.Then ramp up."

Yes, start small and simple. Yes, this is growing ("ramping up").

Doomers not welcome.

A growing number of organizations and activists are calling on consumers to boycott retailers. We explain why.

There have been a few lists like these, and they are great. We have some new details here.

@TwoClownsEating What a gathering!

@gecole

Indeed.

Even stranger, I just learnt it was a small affair, only 68 guests, and these were pretty much the only famous ones.

@TwoClownsEating @gecole

The Bowie Museum @ V&A East opens May 31st. I've browsed some of the artifacts online.

@TheEddieShow @gecole

I was completely unaware they were opening a new museum. Looks amazing.

@TwoClownsEating @gecole

Not much about it since the announcement a couple years ago.

@TheEddieShow @gecole

Passed me by somehow πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

@TheEddieShow @TwoClownsEating oh, thanks! Missed that. Time to plan a trip.

@gecole @TwoClownsEating

I'd love to go to London, if I could make the crossing on the the Queen Mary 2.

@TwoClownsEating @gecole Missed opportunity to invite one more guest, IMO.

@TwoClownsEating I wonder whether Bono is having in his head this little self talk like when he gets a bonus, or a boner - ”It’s because I’m Bono”
@TwoClownsEating Can you tell me what you think his joke was? I can see two possibilities and I don’t want to be the guy explaining the joke everyone else already gets... πŸ˜…

@murtaugh

Just the fact the names all kind of rhyme.

Bono, Ono, Eno.

@TwoClownsEating Ok, this might be a stretch, but β€” if you look at the first letters of Bono, Ono, Iman, Eno... you get:

B O (Bowie) I E

@murtaugh

I see where you're going but it is a stretch πŸ˜‚

He liked the Fast Show and Viz comics so I'd guess the absurdity of vaguely rhyming guests was probably enough. Plus he didn't seem narcissistic enough to spell out his own name in guests (he could have invited director John Woo to complete it πŸ˜‰).

@TwoClownsEating @murtaugh okay, but Eno almost certainly noticed; just look at his face, he's anagramming all their first names too

@ike_seblon @murtaugh

Eno is wondering why he didn't get the indoor sunglasses memo.

@TwoClownsEating @murtaugh I’m sure they were real guests and appeared pro bono.
Oh no, enoff puns.
@TwoClownsEating
How did he miss out on the W?
Bono
Ono
W???
Iman
Eno
Obviously Bowie himself is standing in for the W in that photo.
