A work in progress. I'm here for social justice and cat pictures. Nazi punks fuck off. He/him
Jen Sorensen nails it, as always.

Friends, connectionsโ€”everyone, in fact. Itโ€™s difficult to ask, but I could use your help. Iโ€™m looking for work. Iโ€™m a designer (Interaction/UX/UI) based in Manchester, England with 20+ years of experience.

Iโ€™m looking for a hands-on IC role, ideally working with decent people, where I can put my design/front-end skills to good use. Open to full-time or contract. Remote, hybrid, or on-site.

Leads, advice, and chats very welcome. Iโ€™m all ears. Boosts much appreciated.

Why isn't there a Straight Pride? Here are a dozen reasons...

#Pride #PrideMonth #LGBTQ #LGBTQ+ #queer

How to make good open source project:
- plaster pride flags everywhere (keeps bigots away)
- swear constantly (keeps ai away)
- sex (keeps corporations away)

Microsoftโ€™s terms of service said Copilot was โ€œfor entertainment purposes only.โ€

An Nvidia executive said AI is more expensive than humans.

Google argued in German court that everyone knows they canโ€™t trust AI.

The tech industry has bet a trillion dollars on something they know doesnโ€™t work.

Make sure to cancel apps that use Gen AI, and be vocal that that's why you're canceling.

I thought Qlango was an ethical alternative to Duolingo. But not only do they engage in Duolingo's shitty naggy notifications, they also give an "ask AI!" option, even when you answer a question correctly.

If you want to learn Japanese without supporting technofascism and destroying our dying planet, these are apps that are completely without "Gen AI" and will never nag you with notifications. I have months and years of experience to back that up:

Those are good apps. ๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿป

These are bad apps. ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป

I know I've crossed paths with a couple of people on here in the past who are involved in community theater.

I'm leading a working group for developing an AI policy for our community theater. I told the rest of the board that I would first take an informal survey of how other community theaters are approaching AI usage.

I've reached out to all of our local peers, but if you are a theater person on the fediverse, and you're aware of your community theater having an AI policy, I would love to hear from you.

(Editor's note: If you are not involved in theater and just want to sound off about AI, please save it. I would like to keep this thread manageable and on-topic. If you want to help, you can boost the post.)
