Yeah. My parents would only let me use like two of the scissors and hid the nice ones and wouldn't buy the scissors I wanted as a gift because "you have scissors" (even told other people not to get them for me since I had them already)

They came over one day and noticed that I have a big vase and it's full of every kind of scissor, every color and size...

"so, that really was a big deal I guess" my mom said ... I hadn't even really noticed the connection. But it WAS.

Is it time for me to start trying to get people interested in Issuepedia (a thing I will have been working on for 20 years next month)?

I see people unwilling or ashamed to share their joyous moments right now, like anything that’s not constant, active resistance is somehow frivolous and shows a lack of commitment.

But isn’t that why we’re doing all this? At the end of the day, I don’t resist fascism to prove them wrong or prove my worth, I’m doing it so I can live. So that other people can live a life full of those good moments.

Joy and living isn’t just a necessary component to fighting fascism. It’s the whole point.

IF YOU TRY TO TALK TO ME ABOUT FOOTBALL, I'LL KILL YOU.

When I was a kid, the KKK planned a march through our downtown. I was at my grandparents’ house for the summer. The phone rang, my grandma called my grandpa to the phone. I sat and listened to his side of the conversation.

“Who? When? Where? Where are we meeting? On my way.”

Being the little boy, I want to go with him, whatever it was he was going to do. Lemme go!

“Not this time, son”, as he brushed past me.

With that, he went to the hall closet, pulled out his shotgun and a box of shells, and sped away in his truck. Time for business.

There was no KKK march through town that night or any other night. People don’t know about it because it didn’t happen. I think about that a lot lately.

Absolutely a true story.

We are also looking for ideas about how to help transgender Americans find refuge in European countries.

Let us make Europe a safe haven for American transgender refugees (and we need your help)

A Dutch LGBTQ ally and activist hopes to turn the Netherlands into a haven for transgender refugees from the US. But he needs help. He asks transgender Americans to provide stories he can use to...

The ultra-wealthy lack humanity on a level which the rest of us will never be able to understand.

We can debate with each other, and eventually humanity will win over most of us without the outside interference.

The VIPs live in a completely different realm of thought, with no value for our human lives. When we allow them to take over and control our government institutions, we have lost it all.

Then they convince us that it was all the fault of the X voters or the O voters.

Know your enemy.

One of these days we're gonna have to reckon with the fact that "money that I spend which does not directly benefit me is a waste" is a popular sentiment. I think we should state plainly that this is selfish on its face. And stupid when you have awareness which extends beyond your nose.

We called and you answered! Boston turned out on Wednesday morning to answer our call to stop the sweep of a local encampment. Despite the early start time, freezing conditions, and police opposition we drew a crowd that let the streets of Boston know we stand together against the criminalization of survival. We saw that the city will happily give thousands of dollars to line the pockets of the police despite claiming that there is no funding to support subsidized food or housing. We see through their lies and we say: we have had enough.

When a forced eviction can be a death sentence, we stand with our neighbors in solidarity. It is through our actions that we were able to successfully delay the sweep which greatly reduces the harm of an inherently harmful act.

We will continue to fight and to support each other. This was just the beginning. We are excited to see our community continue to not only advocate for, but to fight for our neighbors. Consider becoming part of our struggle. DM us or send an email to [email protected] and join Warm Up today!
