Still getting the hang of this whole fediverse thing, how does the local vs global feed work? Local seems to only include meow.social posts, but my global feed is still dominated by furry accounts. Unless Mastodon really is furries all the way down, I assume that means it's not just a live feed of every single federated instance.

Is it possible to follow the local or global feeds of different servers? Or would you need to create a different account on those servers to do that?
@KeareCryos nope, you can just to look up their username with your current account and follow them across instances.
@Sorvall It's like the exact inverse of what Google tried to do with google+, and just as ill conceived.
@Hugothepinkcat I didn't think it was possible for him to come up with a worse UI decision than that stupid April Fools cheems, but boy did he pull it off.
@biggestjoel it's always interesting encountering people who are just... unapologetically evil and make absolutely zero pretences about what their goals are. Like, how do you even respond to that?
@Brophensteen @biggestjoel After banning literally all links to other social media sites he halfheartedly backpedaled and then held a poll on whether he should stay as CEO. He's currently losing by over 10 points lol.
