‘Zdravniki na Finskem so postali bogata kasta, ki se vozi okrog z dragimi avtomobili.« Tako pravi moj prijatelj, ki si je na Finskem ustvaril družino. Nima pretirano dobrega mnenja o finskem zdravstvenem sistemu. Čez nekaj mesecev ga čaka operacija kile. Da je poseg potreben, je izvedel na pregledu pri zasebnem zdravniku. Takrat se je lahko odločil, ali se bo operiral v privatni kliniki ali v javni bolnišnici. Če bi izbral prvo varianto, bi bil poseg drag, toda bil bi že davno opravljen. Zdaj čaka … Ko ga bodo operirali, bo doplačal za hospitalizacijo v javni bolnišnici. Zdaj doplačuje tudi za zdravila in preglede, kadar gre k javnemu zdravniku. Ker je Finska še zmeraj socialna država, strošek ne sme presegati določenega skupnega letnega zneska, nekatere ranljive kategorije pa so izvzete iz plačevanja participacije.

She arrived at #Auschwitz on 1 May 1944 in a transport of 1,004 Jews deported from Drancy. She was among 865 of them murdered after selection in gas chambers.

14 January 1932 | Dutch Jewish boy Hartog Roodveldt was born in Amsterdam.

On 31 August 1943 he was deported from #Westerbork to #Auschwitz. After selection he was murdered in a gas chamber.

During the #BosnianGenocide, Ramo Osmanovic was forced by Serb soldiers to call his son, Nermin, into surrender. Both father and son were executed. Their bodies were dumped into shallow mass graves along with thousands of others.
