This day in history. 1498. Michelangelo was commissioned to make the Pietà, a sculpture of teen virgin Mary holding her crucified 33-year-old-son who also appears to have been her father. OK.
Corn dogs are a great way to let people know you don’t give a damn about anything.
First time watching "The Big Game" in a foreign country. No expensive commercials by American corporations. Mostly soccer ads from ESPN.
Aging is not at all like the brochure.
It's not a very high bar. All Biden has to say is that he's not going to overthrow the democracy to form a fascist theocracy and I'm in.

Some Mastodon observations from my early experiences:

1. Like “old” Twitter
2. Replies are less frequent
3. Replies are less annoying
4. Fewer people get pop culture references here
5. Terrible for news or breaking news
6. Rarely infuriating
7. Still the best alternative as Twitter moves inexorably to the far right

Turn ons include knobs, faucets, buttons, handles, cranks, switches, and ignitions.
This day in history. 1998. An airport was renamed for Ronald Reagan in honour of his firing all the air traffic controllers and destroying the American middle class.
I'm feeling especially haughty today. Somewhere between a Bavarian archduke and a 1960s airline pilot.
