Use of the 14th amendment is the only option. McCarthy wants to negotiate .. if this was Mitch you could say OK .. talk to Mitch because he can deliver but Kevin is weak and may make a deal and then the house wacko R's will reject it. He's totally ineffective. We have to understand that our House is a total fiasco now, under control of one party but all those R's willing to be led around by the nose by the handful of fringe reps. It's sad
SO do I have this right? We're all concerned now and think AI needs to be "regulated" because maybe somebody will use it to influence ppl? FB and Twitter, et al having been doing that for years... but its AI (and TikTok) that we need to worry about? If I I were one of those conspiracy types I might be thinking that maybe big tech was behind these hearing. Should AI be regulated? Maybe .. if yes then that needs to be applied as well to the platforms that many many more ppl use than ChatGPT
Trump over the weekend indicated he would bring Flynn back. Well thats nuts .. and it frustrates me that this guy is still "credible" in so many eyes. What is more frustrating is that we don't seem to learn anything. Trump could ,if he won, make Flynn his NSA and grant him top secret clearance .. and that is what is nuts. We see the things he did and we don't ever stop and say "hey.. POTUS just handing out clearances to whoever he wants .. thats a bad idea" Why do we not learn?
Who would have thought that a farcical feudal ceremony backed by a fascistic flag-shagging government would lead to the oppression of free speech?
When you lament the totalitarianism of China or Russia, recall the demise of civil liberties in the UK today. #AbolishTheMonarchy

Members of the Supreme Court:
‼️Accepted payments from billionaires and special interests
‼️who had business before the court
‼️and kept that info from the public
‼️now they are refusing to comply with a Congressional inquiry about it

The Court is de-legitimizing *themselves.* https://twitter.com/basedmikelee/status/1651369912215158784

In a recent viral video, a non-binary member of the US Navy, Audrey Knutson, shared that reading a Pride poem was their proudest moment to serve, which drew criticism from a GOP senator. The criticism was shut down by a US Navy admiral. #tommytuberville #alabama #usnavy #navy #sailor #usarmy

Companies have already announced roughly $175 billion worth of stock buybacks so far this year.

That’s more than double last year's pace.

If there was ever a time to ban stock buybacks — or at least tax them more heavily — it's now.

Did you catch the ads for Jesus during the Super Bowl? It’s bizarre that anyone would spend $20 million to promote and rebrand Jesus this way, but what lies beneath the sleek marketing is something very disturbing. I explain in today’s piece. https://statuskuo.substack.com/p/jesus-at-the-super-bowl?sd=pf

Before you marry a person, you should first make them use a computer with a slow Internet connection to see who they really are.
So I'm going to drop one of those old man things but ... "if they can put a man on the moon..." Why are police body cams not activated as they leave the squad ... and stay on ? They should stay on , not under control of the officer. I believe 99% will show just routine stuff but it makes no sense to put that under the officers control. In Memphis they said 3 of the officers did not turn on their cameras and that is just nuts.
