I like history, cats, books, making things, and random facts. Lawyer, rarely lawyerly here. Deconstructed and came out Anglican.
“You cannot love your neighbor while supporting or accepting systems that crush, exploit, and dehumanize them.
You cannot love your neighbor while accepting less for them and their family than you do for you and your own.” - Mika Edmondson

Although we worship
the King of kings
& Lord of lords,
we must always remember
that we also worship
a convicted criminal.

My cat is obsessed with apples, hummus, yogurt, pears, and now…marshmallows. SMH.
I love to hold a lantern aloft and tremblingly ask “Who goes there?”
Tonight I decided to add candy eyes to our chocolate-dipped strawberries, only to learn that when it comes to desserts there is a very, very fine line between “whimsical” and “cursed”
@WordyAnchorite I am familiar with them! I always break things down and accept that things will look worse before they get better because I’m finally SEEING what’s actually there. Cleaned out my car last night and it was a huge relief.
In retrospect, having Ecclesiastes as my favorite book of the Bible in college should have earned me a “Go Directly to Therapy” card.
Also, from reading through these debates, I have concluded that I picked the nerd corner of Christianity by becoming Anglican.
I left the SBC, deconstructed for a few years, then became Anglican a year ago. I now know just enough about Anglican history and politics to follow most of the extremely dramatic debates happening constantly between Anglicans online but I also weirdly and absolutely do not care.

I’m once again digging out of a depression cave, tiny bit by tiny bit with large pauses to regain my sapped strength. It didn’t get quite as bad this time, so my goal is the be clean by the new year (I’m also working all week so it’ll take longer). Tonight I cleaned off the bed and washed the sheets and such.

Posting here because, I dunno, feels important to be publicly realistic about the realities of living with mental health issues.
