My advent wreath finally arrived today! Only missed half of advent but whatever lol
Has anyone on here read/studied Gafney’s A Women’s Lectionary for the Whole Church? I’m planning to read through it this year. The first three weeks’ readings have been interesting.
Getting advent nails before Christmas nails may just be the most Anglican thing I’ve ever done.
Full disclosure: the nails were supposed to be a glittery deep blue because, you know, liturgical colors, but they came out grey and my southern manners will absolutely not allow me to object to something or ask for a redo from a service worker. So we go with grey.
What are you reading this advent season? I’m reading “Watch for the Light”, a collection of readings for advent from Plough Publishing and using The Daily Grace Co.‘s guided prayer journal.
All that to say, please don’t be afraid to seek help for depression and psychiatric issues. It can feel like you might lose yourself if you go on meds, but often you don’t even realize what you’ve already lost and could regain.

My Christmas decor style went from very traditional and bland to retro and colorful practically overnight a couple of years ago and I love it but was always slightly confused at the drastic change. Today it finally clicked that what actually changed was the psych meds I’m on and the diagnosis I have. I’m finally myself again so my actual taste came out. It’s amazing.
