Played our first session of #DragonHeist
While the Rouge was passed out, the Warrior was carrying off a Kenku, and the Cleiric was talking his way out of a [whatever 16 is]-murder, my changeling accidentally wandered off with 1000 GP that the rest of the party was never aware of. Now the party needs 1000 GP for a project... Anyone know the current interest rate in Waterdeep? #DnD

How about using a luck point to re-roll an arcana check in a seedy shop. On the re-roll you get a 20. The DM hands you the item card. It's a legendary artifact and perfect for your character. "I calmly ask the shop keep how much she wants for this?" The DM smiles wider and points to the last line on the card.
"Cost = 3 luck points at time of purchase"

@BenGoldman I had no problem when I was a DM (haven't in a while) or now that I'm primarily a player with the idea that some checks are impossible.

"I rolled a 23 on my persuasion check to convince the dwarf guard to let us in to the stronghold..."
You are literally at war with the dwarfs, he's not going to let you in.
"But I got a 23!"

Maybe the guard doesn't immediately call for backup or cut your head off, but no amount of fancy words is going to get him to just let you in.

Good Evening, I'm a IT Pro in my 30's with 2 kids and next to no free time (hardly needed to be said).

Because of the lack of time I'm without a regular table, but I do have a weekend table starting up Waterdeep:Dragon Heist next weekend. I also play on myth-weavers (though play by post is a wholly different game). These days only #DnD5, but I'm an old #DnD2 and #Shadowrun vet. Also enjoy playing or watching #Baseball
