Earlier this month, the Space-Cast had guest #BloodOnTheClocktower designer Steven Medway.

Host Space-Biff (Daniel Thurot) speaks with Steven about improper use of timekeeping apparatuses, unreliable identities, player elimination, and how chaos fosters memorable stories.

Space-Cast! #33. Gab on the Clocktower - Space-Biff! Space-Cast!

How much work goes into a successful social deduction game? If Blood on the Clocktower is anything to go by, a whole lot. Today we're joined by Steven Medway, designer of this long-awaited game about the improper use of timekeeping apparatuses, to...

Board game crafting attempt number 2: it's still not 100% perfect, but these custom #BloodOnTheClocktower tokens I made for Steward, High Priestess, and Harpy are now much closer in color to the originals than my first attempt. And they still feel the same in the bag. I'm calling it a win!

Attached: 1 image Did some crafting today: I made tokens for the 3 newest experimental characters released since we got our Clocktower Con tokens. I found sticker paper at Michaels that feels really close to the smooth matte finish of the official tokens, printed on a color laser, and stuck them on spare unused tokens. I'm thrilled with how they came out. Even though the color is off, they FEEL 95% correct, good enough for drawing from the bag. I'm psyched this worked, so I can keep up with more new characters.

The question of "why felt?" in the #BloodOnTheClocktower components, gets discussed a lot by people when they begin investigating a #DIY set.

The design of the game, using felt-backed tokens in a felt-lined Grimoire box, is another significant reason why I (and the game designers) assert this cannot feasibly be a Print-and-Play game. Not even with lots of printable documents like at https://diy.bloodontheclocktower.rocks/

So, why is felt so important? And what felt should we use when making our own?

Clocktower Con 2024 let's goooooooo
@AndrewNathenson You know, if you want to turn the clue-hunting aspects of the Puzzle Box event that you ran at Clocktower Con into maybe an online ARG, let me know, I'd love to help.

Got No Dashii in my first game at Clocktower Con last night, a 15p game of Trouble with Violets. Managed to win with a poisoned Empath beside me!

What a tense way to start the con

#ClocktowerCon starts tomorrow! I'm getting in late tonight, and greatly looking forward to the next few days. Can't wait to play a whole bunch of #BloodOnTheClocktower!

So Clover is probably the most versatile game in my collection at this point. Got it at the start of the year, and haven’t yet found a single person who didn’t really enjoy it. Plus, it can play with almost any player count, despite what the box says. 2 players is a bit more thinky, and once you get to 7+ you have to improvise some components, but it’s totally doable.

Highly recommend it if you want a great word game!

Any of my friends at #GDC this week interested in playing (or learning) #BloodOnTheClocktower, let me know, I'm working on getting a game together. 😈
