There are relatively few realistic sites for student housing, especially as desirable as this one. Also, the plan creates 100+ permanent housing units for the unhoused. Why is it so important that this site remain extremely low density in the heart of a city, and have no student housing despite being immediately adjacent to a college with a housing crisis ?

Up till now I’ve been content for Dems to lay low, vote for Jeffries, and watch McCarthy twist in the wind. But if Kev comes through it’ll be because he sold the Speakership to a gang of far-right loons. Bad for the country.

I’d support Dems voting for a sane R (not Kev) with a few GOPers, esp if they can get concessions like no debt ceiling shenanigans. I know, I know. It’s not Dems’ responsibility to bail out the GOP. And there may not be 6 GOP votes for this idea. Worth exploring though.
