@marcoarment just announced on @atpfm that @overcastfm is shipping podcast transcripts for every public podcast with more than one listener. No subscription required. The story of how he pulled it off is genuinely absurd.

RE: https://mas.to/@mikesax/116252545581318953

Transcripts will be free for everyone.

I'll probably build more advanced features on top of them that may be Premium-only, but what you see in this beta will always be free for all Overcast customers.

Overcast doesn't charge for accessibility or table-stakes features, and once you use transcripts, you'll quickly realize that they're obviously both.

@vollaficationist The EU has been passing laws working towards banning end-to-end encryption and secure devices. It's completely unacceptable to have an EU-based system controlling which hardware and software is allowed to be used. GrapheneOS is not going to participate in bringing about our own downfall through helping to build or legitimize a system which could be used by EU governments to ban GrapheneOS. Play Integrity API should be banned rather than giving it legitimacy making another one.
The wait is (almost) over! Ghost in the Machine is coming to audiences on March 27th! Screenings and rentals are available via Kinema, and the film will stream free on PBS and YouTube this fall. Details at: https://notaidoc.com

There isn't a blog post I can link to, but apparently "experts" who have written to Grammarly about its new "expert review" feature have been told that they are rolling it back and rethinking it. I hope they rethink it right into the ground.

From Jason Rhody (‪@jasonrhody.bsky.social‬):

As someone who watched the careful stewardship of grants over many years, the lack of care and the dismissal of the hard work of scholars and NEH program staff described here is devastating and shameful.
