Into math-ish stuff for things that go boom. Cricket is the ultimate wargame, and tracksuits are high fashion. Really bad at chess.
Testing out adapting Frank Chadwick’s Volley & Bayonet rules for one page battle maps. The goal is to have a travel friendly, easy storage, inexpensive, and low carbon footprint way to play large battles from the 18th and 19th centuries.
Which British wargame should I play tonight? Probably the cricket one…
I’ll be doing a lot of traveling for the foreseeable future, so I decided to stock up on C3i games. That’s a lot of Mark Herman.
I’m really enjoying the Battle system in Plantagenet. It’s reminiscent of Hollandspiele’s Table Battles that I’m a big fan of (and no, I haven’t played it’s War of the Roses version yet). In the below playbook scenario of the Bosworth Field, Henry Tudor narrowly wins yet again as Richard III never got that horse he was asking for.
For the PnP’ers out there, Tiny Battles Publishing has their “MacArthur’s Defeat” game about the fall of the Philippines on sale today. It’s a decent lightweight, small footprint game for casual play and travels well also!
It’s time to Plagenet! I have almost zero knowledge of the topic and am starting my first Levy & Campaign game. Pretty wild night over here!
A friendly reminder to support my Littoral Commander: Baltic wargame! The grassroots support for this type of educational wargame is the critical factor. So please make sure to LIKE, REPOST, and FUND this. 😁 🎲

That was a quick first turn, which is a week in game time. The Vietminh took Gabrielle, even as a furious French defense somehow held the almost always equally doomed Anne-Marie. The VM capture of Hugette 7, however, threatens both that unlikely reprieve for Anne-Marie and, more importantly, the critical airstrip. Turn 2 is set up for tomorrow, where I foresee French counterattacks and Vietminh trench digging.
Starting my first “Storm Over” game. I’m interested in seeing how the area-impulse mechanic works for Dien Bien Phu.
Some Friday night GBoH with the Barbarian scenarios for SPQR, starting with the Battle of Lautulae. And with my first print of an @ardwulf Chit Commander counter tray holding some additional counters from this expansion!
