#JohnMastodon really isn't getting the level of appreciation that he deserves, if we're all being honest with ourselves.
Things just seem so crazy today.
I mean, can you imagine say in the 1930s if the richest automobile executive in America was also a media owner who used his platform to encourage anti-Semitism and allied himself with a foreign dictator waging a territory-expansion war in Europe?
There are many legitimate reasons to track Elon Musk's flight coordinates, for example to offer him ads more relevant to his interests

Every news outlet should stand up a Mastondon instance for their reporters & staff.

It’ll be great to see [email protected] or whatever domain they want to use.

Built in verification. Every reporter for the Washington Post on a washpo domain. Every reporter for the New York Times on an NYTimes domain. Etc, etc.

Plus the “local” feed for each instance becomes a feed of all the posts from that institution mixed together — providing extra discovery.

I'm just trying to archive my app, Apple. I would appreciate not getting an advertisement. As a developer I'm already a paying customer.

And that grayed out "Dismiss" button that looks disabled? Not the best of looks.

It really irks me that I can’t set the Macs Books app to single column layout. The two column layout makes reading code difficult.

Made an iOS Shortcut to let you follow someone from a different Mastodon instance without the copy/paste hoop-jumping.

Once added to your Shortcuts app, you can share a Profile (or webpage or text that contains a profile link or username) to this Shortcut to be taken to the Follow confirmation page without ever copying or pasting anything.

Let me know if you find it helpful or run into any issues.

Starting a woodworking thread. Got the top glued and starting to plane. Doesn’t take as long as I expected but getting some gnarly tear out.
