Well stated. A whole lot of DC media and others are Starfuckers, Inc.

No matter how much WisGOP whines, the numbers show that rural Wis is getting the largest bumps in state road aids and shared revenues in the 2023-25 #wibudget.

That's fine - it makes up for lower property tax base and no one should have 2nd-class infrastructure. But don't complain about a tiny Evers veto that is a fraction of the extra money the rurals are getting. http://jakehasablog.blogspot.com/2023/08/fiscal-bureau-reminds-us-that-rural.html

Rural Wisconsin is getting the bigger state aid boosts in this budget, no matter what GOPs tell you.

I wanted to revisit a post I made a couple of weeks back that discussed a veto Governor Evers made on road funding that made many rural Re...

So US consumer spending and incomes are beating #inflation by a decent amount, and inflation is at its lowest levels in 2 years, at around a 3% rate for 2023.

Wall Streeters may not want workers to be the economy's winners, but #Bidenomics is rolling in Real America.

Incomes up, spending up, and inflation flattening. Keep this ROLLIN'!

As Dane County becomes the Death Star vs GOP hopes in Wisconsin, #wiright continues to double down on anti-education idiocy, and keep losing growing places with educated people.

Not just Madison either. But La Crosse and Eau Claire went 64% for Justice Janet, and dying MAGA towns aren't keeping up.

Which is why Dems set up to do REAL well in 2024 here. http://jakehasablog.blogspot.com/2023/07/how-dane-county-and-other-educated.html

Updated figures from LFB say Wisconsin will have $4 billion in the bank when #wibudget ends, after vetoes from @GovEvers
.
That gives a second chance for a fairer tax cut, funding child care, or other things we need. If we choose.

Can do it now, or at start of 2024 with new revenues in place. Or after 2024 with new maps? http://jakehasablog.blogspot.com/2023/07/state-take-billions-out-of-bank-for.html

State take billions out of the bank for 2023-25 budget, but still have $4 billion left.

We got an update today about how much more money will be in the state's bank account after Governor Evers' vetoes. And it's a bit more t...

Evers puts in veto that raises revenue limits for K-12 schools for next 400 years.

WisGOPs claim this will result in "permanent property tax increases", but that's not true. All that has to be done is to raise state aids by similar % as in 2024, and no property taxes are needed to pay for the rest.

THAT's what WisGOP is angry about, isn't it? http://jakehasablog.blogspot.com/2023/07/evers-adds-school-funding-wisgops-claim.html

With few cards to play, GOP in Wisconsin and DC push work requirements to get assistance.

Except @donmoyn and other researchers point out that work requirements DON'T WORK, and hurt more than they help. Expanding Medicaid works better.

Republicans push work requirements that don't work

WisGOPs roll out new shared revenue package. It's a good start, and #MKE could get even higher sales tax than Evers wanted, albeit with obnoxious strings attached.

But let's see what the $300 mil in "innovation" includes, and how levy limits play in. Can this also reduce wheel taxes? And can anywhere outside of Milwaukee get a sales tax?

GOPs roll out shared revenue plans. It's a decent start, even if the strings attached are obnoxious.

So we've now gotten more details about what Legislative Republicans want to do to fix Wisconsin's broken shared revenue system. And it ...

New @WisPolicyForum report has Wisconsin's state + local tax burden at lowest in more than 50 years, and more state tax cuts likely.

With local govts and K-12 schools struggling to make ends meet, and nearly $7 BILLION in the bank, isn't it time for state to help them out?

Another solid month of job growth + #inflation fading + hints of econ weakness gets us a 700 point rally on Wall Street.

Now can the Fed deal with 2023's reality and stop trying to cause a recession on an inflation monster that doesn't exist?
