Still 20 some years after first airing, #babylon5 scifi musings on the degradation of a nonutopian representative democracy to authoritarianism, nativism and fascism remain relevant if not prescient, even if the writing is almost wholly overoptimistic in the people and power players desire, ability and success at fighting it.

Seriously...How can you even dream of something more best boi than this guy...? Answer: You freaking can't.

Whilst obviously not 1:1 the fact that these exist in #nature without the confounds of human morality, suggest that nonnormative sexual strategies and modalities are not unnatural, or immoral, just different or less common. And should be respected, in my opinion.
I hate when bigots use the moniker of 'It's simple #biology'. Because biology is many things, but simple it isn't. Even the simplest of interactions in biology are the product of millions of chemical pathways functioning in very precise ways, in such a way that a simple disruption or incompatibility of any of the parts could have drastic changes in the ultimate product.
Now this isn't...like...a thing I can wholeheartedly be like 'duh' about being a cis male. But masculinity and femininity are just constructs of an assortative power complex that put men on top. Right, specifically a patriarchal one that sees masculine as being in power and feminine as...well...not. But it's the nub of patriarchal conservatives' problem with #LGBTQ+ people.

As Mrs. Tree put it, she really can’t tell the difference between a nonnative species and a native species, not because she is ill-informed but because Britain’s and by extension Europe’s overall ecologies have a very long history (millennia) of humans moving taxa cross-continent, her pointing out how there were no crayfish in Britain until French monks brought them with them and assorted other examples.
But I also recognize this as a divergence in conservation thought between European (including British) conservationists and New World (including Australian) conservationists. I suspect that this divergence is derived from contextual difference when it comes to our continents’ respective ecologies and humanity’s exploitation of them.
I find it very interesting the divergence between Anglo and European #conservation mindsets and New World ones. I bring this up as a recent broadcast of On Point featured the author Isabella Tree who wrote the book The Book of Wildling: A Practical Guide to Rewilding, Big and Small. Now I will say right now, I have not read this book. However, the opinions expressed by Mrs. Tree particularly on invasive species and the over-wroughtness of our concern about them is, I think, unhelpful.

Technically it was the same lie three times...you can't hold that against me...
