Sigh. Cut to next topic. "Karte kya ho". Aunty I am an editor at a publishing house. "Arre, dying industry." Well, at least I am not balding in a blood-sucking corporate job like your son.
Cut to this evening. School friend's engagement where multiple aunties proceeded to tell me that first "beta, you have put on weight, pehchaan me nahi aarahi." Umm, yes, aunty, you see I was in class 5th when you last saw me. So I guess that's natural.
I can't ever eat at parties. The crippling anxiety of having to make small talk makes my stomach forget that it loves food. I am one of those awkward loners who becomes best friends with the curtain.
