@rosstimson @coldclimate @jtruk sounds like a plan, I’m sure I could be persuaded.

@rosstimson aye, still planning to make the trip. You putting in an appearance?
@AimeeMaroux @phistorians Ooh, thank you. Do like my classical civilisations, and with Summer finally putting in an appearance had planned a few exploratory walks along Hadrians Wall, so that fits nicely.

Looking to shake things up a bit as I’ve not looked for new content for a while

What podcasts etc should I be adding to the rotation?

Any and all suggestions welcomed

UPDATE: no need for further boosting. Thank you everyone!

My boss, Matt Mullenweg, the boss of Automattic, owner of Tumblr, is looking for ex-Twitter employees for Tumblr, saying,

"we're putting on a fast track to see how they can help super-charge Tumblr. We can't absorb thousands of people, but I'd be open to hiring entire teams if they already work great together."

“@levelsio @automattic In particular I'd say people leaving @twitter we're putting on a fast track to see how they can help super-charge @tumblr. We can't absorb thousands of people, but I'd be open to hiring entire teams if they already work great together.”

@Anachron social media, the clue is in the name, social.

It’s not the equivalent of your home address; it’s the equivalent of the town square, library, coffee shop, park. Shared public space; with etiquette and social responsibilities to match.

But I suspect we’re unlikely to change the others perspective; if you want to go to bat for the guy and make excuses for the behaviour, you do you.

@Anachron @Techielass victim blaming isn’t the way to go with this one. Repeatedly sliding into peoples inboxes once it’s obvious they don’t want to engage with your creepy-a$$ is not OK.

The point of social media is to engage with people: having a public social account is no more an invite for stalker-ish behaviour than a short skirt is “asking for it”.

@j_opdenakker yes, LastPass, but not necessarily for the usual reasons.

I’ve also convinced some family to use and join my family account; the ability to safely share passwords and entire accounts on death is a huge stress relief.

As morbid as it sounds, cracking a deceased relatives PC a day after their funeral so their widow can access household services is not an experience I want to replicate.

I handle the household tech; if I’m hit by a bus I want to ensure my kids have access to the family backups. Like a lot of folks, we have relatively few physical photo albums to pass down the generations.

The Great Pyramid of Giza, also known as the Pyramid of Khufu or the Pyramid of Cheops, is an ancient monument that has fascinated scholars and tourists alike for centuries. Located on the Giza Plateau near Cairo, Egypt, it is the largest of the three pyramids that form the Giza Pyramid Complex. Built during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom of Egypt, around 2580–2560 BC, it is one of the oldest and most intact structures from ancient Egypt, and it is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still in existence.
