@jadevol Daily Kos has mostly been down since I got up at about 1:30 AM Central time.

If you click @micahflee's Twitter profile, it looks like he's back, but in reality he's still blocked from his account.
Here he explains how he got _shadow unbanned_:
Elon Musk is still silencing the journalists he banned from Twitter https://theintercept.com/2022/12/20/elon-musk-twitter-banned-journalists/
Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter gives him direct access to tens of millions of brains. He is making a zealous effort to change and control those brains by flooding them with hate and misinformation.
He's creating an echo chamber that forces everyone to engage the extreme conservative ideas in order to make such ideas seem mainstream. He’s shifting the discourse to favor election deniers, racists and insurrectionists … turning Twitter into a social media version of Fox.

The reason Mastodon and the Fediverse is spread out on so many servers is it protects it from being taken over by anyone. Not even the richest can buy this place.
Centralised services like Twitter are incredibly easy to buy out. If you move from Twitter to another centralised service, sooner or later that will get bought out too.
The point of the Fediverse is to break this buyout cycle, to let people be permanently in control of their accounts. More info here:
One of the greatest "How it started/how it's going" examples, EVER.

A must-read on @[email protected] from Linette Lopez, one of the journalists that Musk has suspended from Twitter.
She has covered his business activities with a critical eye for years.
