Meanwhile, I thought I'd finally pick up Raymond E Feist's "Magician". I'm nearing the end of my third playthrough of Betrayal at Krondor, but never read the books. I've never really been that enamoured with his prose, I just wanted something that would be familiar, straightforward, and not particularly challenging. In fact, I've joked before that it seemed that every single section of dialogue in Krondor follows the same formula:

"The <noun> was <adjective>.
<Character> <verb>ed the <noun>, ..."

I idly wondered if Magician would open the same way. And so:

"The storm had broken.
Pug danced along the edge of the rocks, ..."

Ha! Damn close! Well, at least I know what I'm getting.

Oh what the hell?...

I'm trying to record something for an internet jam thing. I've got a recording doodad to plug my guitar into my computer, but I haven't used it in years, and even then not very much.

Anyway, it turns out when I play an A on the low E string, it comes out far louder than anything else. Like some kind of resonance that feeds back and makes the note louder and louder. Hard enough to try to get the volume levels right in the first place since I don't do this very often, but the key we're playing in is A anyway, and I'm a bit shaky not playing in E. And, to be honest, improvising my own stuff up in the first place.

What a pain to try to deal with one spot on the guitar being obnoxiously loud on top of that!

what’s ogging my vorbises?
It sounds WAY cooler in the original Japanese, you just gotta trust me on this one.
Did I ever tell you all about the time there was a kid seated next to me who’d never flown before, and he was asking his parents all kinds of questions about the plane. He was so chill and curious. And we get up in the air and the captain turns off the seatbelt sign. And this kid (looked to be about 7) so calmly goes, β€œSo do we jump out now?”

I just dreamed I'd bought myself a demilitarised F-16, and I was flying it to my mum's place for a visit. I was stuck in traffic, though, because I kept having to land at every traffic light and then take off again when the light went green.
